Express 2 Connect
Express to Connect (E2C) is a project based on personal storytelling as a vehicle for social interaction. The project’s intent is to develop a web-based service that can support this. The project runs for 3 years and will develop, test, deploy and commercialize a solution. E2C is a pan-European project which aims to create a new solution – based on information and communication technology (ICT) – which can contribute to counteract loneliness and isolation among older people in Europe. The project is sponsored by The Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Joint Programme.
E2C addresses three main components of the AAL program:
- Enable the establishment or maintenance of good social relationships.
- Focusing on individual experiences and resources as a prerequisite for social interaction beyond the immediate network.
- Storytelling as a participatory activity, a way of expressing and a tool for conversation and social interaction.
In the E2C project Cluster 55° is responsible for the commercialization workpackage, bringing the research results from the project to market. This is done through establishing of a commercial platform, finding partners on a European level, finding venture capital and also customers for the business to business solution. Cluster 55° also does the market analysis and marketing strategy part in the project.
The project is implemented in cooperation with partners from Denmark (Copenhagen Living Lab – Lead Partner) Finland (Forum Virium Helsinki, Active Seniors Association, Laurea University of Applied Sciences), Netherlands (Waag Society, Heutink, Multi-Media Table BV), Sweden (Halmstad University, Halmstad Municipality) and Denmark (Substanz A / S, Copenhagen Living Lab).
